My own views fall on her the side of the argument – that we aren’t addicted to sugar or food, even if our relationship with food and eating is vastly out of balance. In fact, I’ve come to view all addiction as learned behavior – that is deeply reinforced habits that can be changed.
That is if you feel out of control with sweets and processed food, consider that perhaps it’s not the substance itself but the behavior that needs to be addressed.
