Diet talk is everywhere, and it’s insulting and triggering. You will be doing yourself, your friends, and any children in the vicinity a favor to eliminate these phrases (and many more). There are much more interesting things to talk about than what you’re eating (or not eating) and how you’re feeling fat.
This is something I used to do and didn’t know how damaging it was. If you’re still saying (or even thinking) these things, it’s time for reconsideration.
In 2019, let’s all just say “no thanks” to diet culture. The following phrases aren’t doing you, or anyone else, any good. They can be harmful in terms of how you feel about your body or affect the people around you, especially children and teens who are still forming a relationship with food.
