The various movements and labels around body and fat acceptance are evolving. These terms and their associated movements have complex intersections with feminism, racism, and sexuality that are being debated around the web. Some object to “positivity” being co-opted by the wellness industry. For that reason and others, many are rejecting the idea of body positivity in lieu of other terms. In this article the idea of body neutrality is explored.

In my opinion it’s fantastic that all of these discussions are happening. Whatever you call it these ideas are positive trends in the culture. As the women interviewed here attest, gyms are filling up with women who would have previously stayed home, and eating disorders are now being recognized in women of all sizes.
