Isabel Foxen Duke has a lot to say about the advice to eat when you’re hungry and stop when you’re full. Intuitive eating, she says, shouldn’t devolve into “the Hunger and Fullness Diet.”
And I agree.
It’s good advice to stay mindful of your physical hunger signals, of course, but you don’t want to ignore the emotional reasons why you are reaching for food. Doing that keeps you in a struggle against food and your appetite.
I’ve followed Isabel for a long time, enjoying her humor and the way she cuts to the chase. For some potty mouth truth bombs listen to her five minute take on this important subject.
