This is an old article for fitness professionals that makes excellent points about what it means to feel fat, that numbers aren’t judgments, and that many who think they need to lose weight actually don’t. If you are a gym goer this article might help you feel better about the body you have vs. the body you imagine.

In particular the issue of “last 5 pounds” is discussed. I can relate to this as in the past no matter how low I was on the scale I still felt that there was another few pounds needed to lose. I wish that a sensitive HAES trained fitness professional would have addressed this with me rather than given more diet advice.
